1.Sprites aren’t just for games. There are plenty of places in non-entertainment software where they’re used…or misused. In fact, you probably know the most infamous sprite in application software history, Clippy the Office Assistant—the animated paperclip meant to give helpful suggestions in Microsoft Office. However, many people found Clippy obtrusive and irritating. One major online publication even ran an article entitled “Kill Clippy!” Well, Microsoft finally saw the light. Starting with Office 2007, Clippy is no longer available. So, while graphics can make a program more interesting, remember: Use your sprite powers for good instead of evil.
