1000-1200 word literature research report on one of two questions. Further information required
Weighting: 30% Length: 1000 words, approx. *see note on word limit below. Due Date: Monday April 12, 11.59 pm Summary: Undertake research on a chosen question. Analyse your chosen research question, retrieve five academic sources appropriate to writing about it, explain their relevance, and reference your sources. Instructions and Advice: A list of questions have been provided further down the page. Subject-areas have been attached to these (in green text) to assist students who would like to research a topic in line with future study ambitions. Select only one of these questions. Analyse the question and devise and test keywords and search strategies for locating relevant sources. Download the template, and use this to complete your assignment. it's a Word document, so as you write into it the space will expend. As you will see, this template asks you to summarise the key points of your sources, as well as explain their relevance to the question you have chosen. What will a completed template entry look like? Take a look at this example for guidance. · All sources should be located via the search methods demonstrated in class (such as Google Scholar, Megasearch, Library Catalogue, academic ejournals and databases (via UTAS Library), or found by browsing relevant UTAS library shelves. · Sources used should be accessible in full (i.e. not just the abstract or blurb). · Further guidance on this task will be provided in class. * Note on word limit In the template provided for this task, it is suggested that you write approximately 150 words for each "Relevance of source" section. You need to do template entries for five sources, but wait: 5 x 150 doesn't equal 1000. It equals 750. The idea is that once you also include the other assorted information you'll be typing into the template for each source (e.g. keywords you used to find them), it'll probably end up somewhere around 1000 words. Exactly how much is written in each of the other template fields will vary depending on what the source is, how it was found, and so on--hence the 1000-word total is only 'approximate.' Focus on filling out those fields with the information they ask for, then writing around 150-words for each of those 'relevance' sections. If you've done that but your assignment comes out a little under or over 1000 words, that's no problem. Assessment Criteria and links to Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs): 1.
