The Hundred Years’ War was a war between England and France that took place between 1337 and 1453. The War took place over the right to rule France after the death of Charles IV of France, who did not have an heir to the throne before his death (Reesman). Due to this, the then King of England, Edward III wanted to rule France as its new King, because by birth, he was a French from his maternal side. However, he did not have the right to be a ruler from his maternal rights, because that was against the Salic law, which automatically transferred the right to be a ruler to Philip VI of France.
The strength of France being more than that of England, initially, began weakening due to incapable rulers and outdated war techniques. This made Joan of Arc finally intervene the battle, leading France to success by sieging Orleans (Orgelfinger). Despite being a farmer, she was a brave and tactical leader of the army, with strategic moves...
