There are different man made risks that can be faced by an organization, these risks are
dependent on the profile, the environment of the business operations, operating methodologies
and practices as well as risk tolerance. Some of the man-made risks are war, conflicts, organized
and opportunistic crime, social instability, computer crimes and indirect fire attacks.
Computer crime:
With the increasing pace in technology computer crime is one of the biggest man-made risk that
can be faced by an organization. In the initial phases, the viruses in the computers were
transferred through floppy disks, which could be controlled. With the modern technological
perspective, the organizational information system can have the risk of viruses through network.
The organization faces three types of information system risks which includes unauthorized use
of a computer, creating and releasing malicious programs and harassment and stalking in
cyberspace. The organizations should have a strong focus on having the backup system of
reluctant material systems so as to safeguard materials storage.
