2. Recycling materials at end of life carries a carbon footprint. If they are combustible, like paper or most plastics, there is an alternative—combustion with energy recovery—though it, too, carries a carbon footprint. Create a chart with these two footprints as axes. Select linear scales and plot a line along which the two are equal. Hence identify three materials for which the recycling CO2emission is greater than that of combustion.
