1. Two blocks are to the held in equilibrium by applying minimum force P as shown in Fig. NP 5.3. Take coefficients of friction at floor as 0.3, 0.33 at wall and 0.24 between the blocks, determine minimum force P.
2. A screw jack has a screw, consisting square thread of two threads to 24 mm. The outer diameter of the screw is 90 mm. Determine the force required at the end of 750 mm long handle to raise the load. Take coefficient of friction between nut and the screw as 0.20.
