1. The topic I have chosen relates back to the first module discussion post –I will be discussing the unusually high suicide rate within my community. Due to the amount of mountain and outdoor activities available year-round, most of my community tends to be comprised of healthy individuals, however mental health is a huge area that needs improvement. This topic is very important to me due to friends and family in the past who have come to me contemplating suicide. I intend to use my studies to also help be an advocate within my own community and to help prevent suicide in ways I am able.

This assignment is to be based primarily on Vail, Colorado, however other mountain towns within the US (and globally) can be used for additional data.
