1.The paper needs to be between 3-5 pages in length.If you fail to meet the minimum page requirement (3 full pages) you will lose points.
2.You need to provide a brief summary of the article at the beginning of the paper noting the author’s argument.What does the author find? Is the argument compelling? (2-6 sentences max).
3.Following the summary you need to include a thesis statement indicating your argument.What do you think about the author’s argument? Do you agree or disagree with the findings? Your thesis statement should clearly state your position on the issue.If you fail to include a thesis statement you will lose points.
4.In the remainder of the paper you need to use evidence to support your argument. Your paper should end with a conclusion summarizing your argument.
5.You must use APA style to cite you sources in the paper and include an APA style works cited page.The articles are considered works in edited volumes so be sure to adhere to the APA style for such works. You may include additional sources but be sure to cite them using APA. You will lose points for failure to cite your sources or to include a works cited page as well as citing them using the incorrect APA style. 6.The paper must have the following format standards:
Your paper must be typed.
You must use a 12pt font.
Left and Right margins can be no wider than 1.25 inches.Top and Bottom margins can be no wider than 1 inch.
Your essay must have page numbers.
Your essay must be double-spaced.
Be sure to proofread for typos.
Failure to follow these rules will lead to a lower grade.
Presentation Guidelines
Students must speak on the assigned reading for aminimum of 6 minutesin a presentation that can include Powerpoint, Prezi, YouTube, or any other medium students choose to use.You need to provide a brief summary of the article at the beginning of the presentation noting the author’s argument.

the remainder of the presentation you need to use evidence to support your argument.Presenters will be graded on the content and style of their presentations (follow guidelines, no spelling errors, etc.), their ability to adhere to the time limit, and their participation in answering questions of their peers.
Students must speak on their article from aminimum of 6 to a maximum of 10 minutes. Presenters need to provide an overview of the article and students are allowed and encouraged to take information and analysis from their paper to include in the presentation.You must include your thesis statement and analysis in the presentation.Presenters will need to be prepared to answer questions from the class following the presentations.Your will be graded on your ability to adhere to the time requirement of the presentation so be sure to practice prior class to ensure your presentation is within the appropriate length.In addition to the time limit, presentations will be graded for delivery (audible and clear to the class), style (content, organization, the absence of typos), as well as the presenter’s ability to answer questions related to the article from the class. The final grade will be an average of your paper grade and presentation grade.The article analysis/presentation will count for 20% of your grade.
