The 2,000 words (5 to 6 typed pages) is the body of the assignment.  THIS IS NOT A LOT AND SO YOU NEED TO PRIORITISE THE ISSUES YOU INTEND TO DISCUSS.  BE VERY SELECTIVE.  It does not include tables or diagrams, list of references or appendices.
A quick tip.  When comparing your business case with templates from cited references, use a simple table of four columns: Column 1 Reference 1 Template.  Column 2: Reference 2 template.  Column 3: Actual project template.  Column 4: Differences between the cited references and actual project templates or contents.  As these are in a table they are not included in your word count.  Then, under the table, derive findings as to which of the difference could be included in future business cases within your company to improve them or maybe how current processes could change to improve business case development.
