1. Factors responsible for the huge immigration
    In 1965, the immigration and naturalization act abolished the quota system, which was based on the national origin and it established the new immigration policy with the aim on reuniting immigrant families. This change in the immigration policy comes with the strengthening of the civil right movement, which focus on the equal treatment in the country irrespective of the race and nationality.
When the men in the America went on for the Second World War, large number of skilled labours from Mexico was immigrated to work in the country. It has been seen that there was large number of immigrations in New York during the period of 1960s from Europe and Asia in search of good opportunities. At that time, industries were in desire of getting cheap labour, and America has established itself as super power.
This provided opportunity for people all over world to earn and support their families in their homeland. The displaced person act allowed the people, who are displaced during World War were allowed to migrate to America to rebuild their lives as a result, country had witnessed huge migration.
