The protagonist of the movie, Chris Gardner stays in small rented apartment in San Francisco with his girlfriend and five-year-old son. He is a struggling sales representative and faces tremendous financial challenges. Determined to be successful, Chris works diligently at Dean Witter a stock exchange firm.
