1. Discuss the political, military, and religious causes for the spread of Islam outside of
the Arabian Peninsula.
The spread of Islam outside the Arab peninsula was due to several factors. These were
political, religious and military causes. The Islamic states expanded rapidly after Muhammad’s
death. The spread of Islam achieved remarkable success through converting the unbelievers to
Islam. This was done in a religious way through teaching of Prophet Muhammad. The spread of
Islam was also instigated through use of military intervention in several states. There were
several military conquests of Islam states and communities’ opponents.
