1. Patient reports any change in orientation to person, place, time, or in short-term/long-term memory immediately and seeks appropriate directions regarding discontinuing therapy.
2. Patient describes nonpharmacologic approaches to the treatment of acute and chronic pain such as the use of hot or cold packs, physical therapy, massage, relaxation therapy, biofeedback, imagery, and hypnosis.
