The rise and spread of social media has greatly affected the lives of professi
onals. In fact, social media platforms are now recognized not only as the places where people get to know each other through virtual means but also they tend to present their views in online mode over various topics (Rogers 2020). With the new dimension added to social media, the professional world has emphasized over the need of regulating the behavior of professionals working with any organizations in the online world with particular focus given to their social media accounts. The debate is now on the subject whether or not, employees are to be hired or fired based on their activities on social media.
