a. I expect a positive relationship between median income and home value. As with higher income one is expected to buy housed of higher value. I expect a negative relationship between population density and median income. As with higher population density, the median income is expected to decrease. As distribution of income is expected to be skewed to left for a area with high population density. I expect a negative relationship between population density and home value. As with higher population density, the home value is expected to decrease.
b. Scatter plots:
An upward trend is observed in scatterplot indicating that there is positive linear relationship between home value and median income. Since points are close to each other I can say that this relationship is strong. The same is my expected findings.
A downward trend is observed in scatterplot indicating that there is negative linear relationship between population density and median income. Since points are not close to one another I can say that this relationship is weak. The same is my expected findings.
