1. Do you think that, since there are art standards, assessments should be developed based on them? Discuss why or why not.
2. Look online for suggested art activities for younger children. Discuss with others some examples of those you consider appropriate based on the NAEA’s standards and those that are not.
3. Review what you know about what constitutes a topic worthy of inquiry-based, investigative learning. Based on this knowledge, what topics, other than those suggested in this chapter, might emerge from young learners’ artistic endeavors? Explain how each topic might integrate the curricular subjects.
