1. Discuss possibilities of topics for in-depth, inquiry-based learning projects for young learners. Using the criteria in this chapter for topic selection, discuss why or why not each topic could or should be used. Keeping in mind that younger children need less complex topics, include discussion of the children’s age and developmental appropriateness of each topic.
2. Choose a topic worthy of study from your list in Item 1. Discuss or write down what might take place in each phase if the inquiry-learning study traveled through three phases similar to the phases of a project approach.
