Human trafficking is a serious crime which is on the rise globally. Each year thousands of men, women and mostly the chil
dren from poor society are been transported to various countries to work as forced labour, slaves, prostitutes or beggar and even mutation of body organs. The people are trafficked through deception, force, coercion, frauds, kidnapping by providing hefty amount to the person controlling the victim. In relating to human trafficking a movie named Slumdog Millionaire was directed by Oscar award winner Danny Boyle. The movie illustrates the story of a boy from the slums of Dharavi; Mumbai named Jamal Malik who is on the hot seat of India’s most popular quiz show “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” and is on the verge of winning the grand prize of 20 million dollars. But, since he was from the slums and was consistently replying correct answer, the quizmaster Prem Kumar was suspicious and called the police to arrest Jamal and sent him to police custody on charges of cheating. On being asked by the police of how he knew all the answers to the question, Jamal narrates his life story.
Jamal Malik had a brother Salim Malik with who he used to roam around the streets of Mumbai and used to pick rags. Both of them were orphans and used to rag pick to earn their livelihood. One day on their way they met a girl named Latika who also joined them as a rag picker.
